Local Outreach

Through our local outreach ministry, you have the opportunity to minister and give to those in your immediate community, city, county and state. Giving includes far more than your money. It is also about sharing your heart, your time and your talents with others, for others. Developing relationships with others. There are so many waiting to experience the love of God . . . through you!

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others ….” ~ 1 Peter 4:10

Giving is part of the very nature of God.  And because He created you in His image, you also have the heart to give. Whether you’re ministering to women and children at local shelters, assisting the elderly and single moms, meeting the needs of those touched by crisis and natural disaster or sharing the gospel in local prisons and on stateside trips, we have a place for you.
Serving others in your community will change the way you see the world and your place in it. There is an opportunity for everyone, regardless of experience, talents or spiritual giftedness. Whether you have one hour a month or several hours a week, don’t miss the opportunity to put your love into action! Learn how you can be a part of  any of these local ministries. These relationships are developed through consistent prayer, generous giving, and faithfully going on location to serve.

Hands of Compassion – Newman Peters

Hands of Compassion is ministry designed to impact the physical and spiritual needs of people in Greenville and Hunt County. For more than twenty years volunteers from various Greenville churches have given time, talent, money and other resources to help feed and clothe the hungry.

Each Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. people in need can receive food and clothing at no cost and take part in a special worship service. Many members at Grace Community Church are actively involved in the ministry of Hands of Compassion. From administration to unloading trucks, people from Grace join with others to see the gospel lived out by helping the needy with daily necessities.

Anyone can help through prayer, personal involvement, and giving. If you would like more information about Hands of Compassion please contact Newman Peters by calling (903) 408-9903. You can find Hands of Compassion on Picket Street behind First Baptist Church in downtown Greenville, Texas.
