what we believe

Our belief in God and our faithfulness to his written word is central to who we are. We believe in the one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. Through his love, grace, and sovereignty, he creates, sustains, rules, redeems, and judges the world. His truth is revealed in the written word of God through divine inspiration and the supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures. God’s word is fully trustworthy for faith and conduct. We believe that Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God’s eternal Son, born of the virgin Mary. He is fully divine and fully human yet without sin.

We believe that God made all people male and female in his image, that we are made to love, be holy, and care for creation, and that we are corrupted by sin which incurs divine wrath and judgement. Through the atoning sacrifice on the cross, Jesus Christ died in our place, paid the price of sin, and defeated evil so that we might be reconciled with God. He bodily rose from the dead and ascended to the Father where he reigns and mediates as the only Savior of the world. Through faith in Christ, sinners are solely justified by the grace of God. One day, Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to fulfil the purposes of God, raising all people to judgement, bringing eternal life to the redeemed and establishing a new heaven and new earth.

It is the ministry of God the Holy Spirit to lead us to repentance, unite us with Christ through new birth, empower our discipleship and enable our witness. For believers, the church is central to Christian practice. It is the body of Christ both local and universal. Given life by he Holy Spirit, the church is endowed with gifts to bring glory to God, edify the community of believers, and proclaim the gospel.
